I just bought a genset with a yanmar L100E engine. It's a V2 engine and it runs a 6500w generator. It seems like a very nice package. Just wondering if anyone else out there had expierience with these air cooled diesel engines?thanks<br>gary

Eric, I hope you opted for the HD bucket. It really is a big difference.
I broke my joystick this weekend at 32 hours. The bottom screw hole gave out and broke it off right there. see pic
Looks like this may be a weak point for the loader.

mark, the tc35d price is right on with what I got mine for here in NC, but you should get a quote for the HD bucket (absolutly) and the grill guard, both of these are not "standard" equipment for the tc35d. That should add about another $300 for you deal.

How's this.... I'm working on my "compost pile". It's a pile about 1/3ac and 30' high of leaves collected by the local muni and dumped on the 1/3ac for 2 years. I haven't even tried to turm much of it over, but I'm taking off right now and selling it very fast. I'm taking my 54" tiller and running over the pile a few times then using my FEL and toothbar, raking back down the pile and loading it then. It's like black gold. The tiller really does a nice job of choping up the matted leaves and mixing them with the upper layers.
I'm selling it for $10/cubic yard delivered.

Thsi is the only way to compost...on a grand scale.

Having just run a little over 800' of PVC sch 40 pipe for my irrigation purposes I have a few comments here for your project. First, have you done your calculations for the GPM your going to get out of your 1" pipe? I opted for 1.5" pipe to get the GPM to the heads. There are loses at every joint/elbow/tee/valve and evern over the length of the pipe. Most commercial irr companies use the 1.5" to feed the system. I can get enough GPM to run 5 heads at once thus cutting the time pumping the water 800'. Are you going uphill/downhill?
Poly pipe had some advantages, but if you only get 100' rolls you might as well get the 20' lengths of PVC with the flared ends ready to fit and glue. You can glue almost as fast as you can walk. Getting that poly pipe to unwind can be very time consuming, plus you still have to get those fittings into the ends, plus the cost of the fittings and the SS worm clamps are $1/ea here.
The poly pipe is good if you have a lot of curves/corners to go around. Poly pipe can make a little better turn that PVC.

Deep, is only a concern if you've got to dig it up sometime to repair. (it does happen). I've run over PVC and it doesn't shatter but will flatten out. I'd got 18" in most spots since that's close to the 12" that most the valve boxes/covers are set for.

I had my tc35d out this weekend with air temps in the high 80's. The temp gauge came up to the middle of the green area withing a few minutes of driving it down the road at full RPMs. Stayed there consistantly all working time.
Is this just a cold weather problem?

Dwight, I saw the Longs at the local Farm Show a few months ago. They were pretty purple, but they had a long way to go to the NH and Kubotas. The loader looked a little wacky and the engine didn't look too cool. I didn't get a price and I forget the model I was looking at, but they just didn't perk me up..

Allan, I can believe it's a uphill battle for you. Here are a couple of suggestions that may help�
Gather you a list of �chores� that the tractor would accomplish. Then go to a rental place to see what a tractor rental would cost and get it for a long weekend. Get everything ready and go to work. The rental will probably be over $300 for a weekend and maybe as much as $500. I was fortunate enough to have Carver Equipment close enough to us and they had a �lease to own� program that you could lease a tractor ~$500/mo and %100 went toward purchase price. So you actually demonstrate the uses and time savings of the tractor without having to dive in. You could take a load of wood with a wheelbarrow a load with the tractor and track the time and amount each does. Ta Da..
Move some soil for flowerbeds, a few things she would like to see, dig a stump, dig a hole for a tree�no shovels needed. Let her ride it and use it.

Dave, I just bought a tc35d w the 16la. I opted for the front grill guard and the dealer said the cost was $185. Now, I don't know if that's MSRP or what. I paid 18,775 for my package with the guard included.
I have not see a catalog for any NH accessories except on there web page.

Has anyone wondered why our Boomers don't have the Boomer logo anywhere on the tractor?? All the NH marketing material talks up the Boomer name, but the tm is not where to be found on the blue paint.<br>I might have to create my own!!<br>

1) the blanks are for other switches like the rear work light option
2) no, the wire hardness in not set up for the worklight from the factory, although the wiring diagram shows where it goes.
3)yes there is a float position on the 16la loader

we had a 3/4ac pond dug a 2 years ago by a local contractor. He had a CAT 318 trakhoe and a little dozer. We already had a low area so we already had a 4' pond after the trees were taken out. He dug out another few feet down to 15-18' deep in other areas(hit rock in some spots) He used the good clay to build the pond dam, our driveway. The topsoil was stockpiled off to the side and no dirt was trucked off our property. That saved on the cost.
As a side note speaking from great expierience, build the dam/overflow pipe like your going to build your house on it. For us we needed 3 12" overflow pipes because our pond if filled from several small streams and one big 18" road pipe that drains ~40ac around our development. Unfornutatly we caught the edge of the big hurricain Floyd right after the pond pipes were in and we got 13" of rain over 36 hours. It filled the pond up in less than 2 hours and washed out the pipes in another hour. There were several mistakes made by the contractor in the laying of the pipes. These were corrected in the next try, and it's been golden ever since.
The cost for all this was in the 3k range, that's about 3 days worth of loader/dozer work and just a few materials.
I sat the poles in the pond for a dock while it was empty also.

Hello Scott, I too took delivery of a tc35d r4s and the 16LA last week. I paid 18,875 here in NC and that was with the tires loaded and a front brush guard installed. I've used it to pull up a couple of 6" stumps just to compare to my b2400. It's been too wet here to get it out much. As far as digging holes, I've dug several holes with the b2400hsd I used to have. We had a 3/4ac pond dug-out a few years ago and I wasn't satisfied with how part of the bottom was contoured so I took my b2400 down into the dry hole and dug out a ~10'x10' hole to about 6' deep in about 2 hours and that included taking the dirt out of the pond to another location. The key I found is making it so that you can back ouot of the hole once you've loaded the bucket. This means not making the initial grade too steep. You can alway's come back and dig that out later. I'd say my slope was ~30deg so I started out diging before the 10' area I wanted dug out.
Another time I dug out a gum tree and went down 4' just in a matter of 3-4'. Much steeper but I wasn't taking out as big of loads of dirt on this project.
A toothbar would really have helped.
I would think I could dig to China with this tc35 now!
